He graduated as the best student at University of Chile in 1992, obtaining first prize award for his thesis project in the National Architecture Biennial in 1993. In 1998 he graduated from Yale School of Architecture as Fulbright and Presidente de la República scholar, obtaining his M-Arch and awarded with the Samuel J. Fogelson Memorial fund for excellence in design. He is currently Associate professor at Universidad de Chile School of Architecture where he began his academic career in 1999 as studio professor until 2007, when he became thesis project advisor position he has had until today. In 2005 he was appointed Director of the School of Architecture of University of Chile until 2007 when he became Director as well as co-founder of San Sebastian School of Architecture in Santiago, until today.
He has been invited as visiting professor to the most prestigious schools of architecture and industrial design in the country (Universidad de Chile, Universidad Católica de Chile, Universidad Federico Santa María, Universidad Diego Portales, and Universidad San Sebastián).
As partner for Tidy Architects, the independent studio has been based in Santiago de Chile since 2000.
Tidy Architects is considered today one of the prestigious young architecture studios in Chile confirmed by several prizes in architecture competitions and a wide range of projects. Their work has been selected for national and international Biennials such as Chile, Venice, Sao Paulo and Quito as well as extensively published worldwide in Asia, Latin America, the United States and Europe. Among their most important awards is the first public competition prize for Sports Infrastructure (Santiago City Hall 2001), the first prize for Recovering Architectural Heritage in Latin American Historical Centres (Junta de Andalucía Spain2001), the first public competition prize in the illumination contest for Universidad Federico Santa María (Phillips 2002) and the first public competition prize for recovering Universidad Austral Science Building. Tidy Architects has also won several first prizes at private contests such as Dominga Restaurant (2007), Amorío Restaurant (2006) and Baraona Marré attorneys (2007).
